Zero Tolerance Line for Practices

At Ely Bridge Surgery, we ask our patients to treat all of our members of staff with the same level of respect you would expect to receive.

Our care navigators are here to help guide you to the most appropriate healthcare professional to address your needs, this may not always be a GP.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy at Ely Bridge Surgery and any abusive conduct towards our colleagues, such as shouting, swearing and threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. Any patient behaving in such a way will be asked to leave the premises and will receive a written warning and/or be subsequently removed from our patient list if this behaviour reoccurs within a 12 month period and it will be the patients responsibility to find a new GP.

Our members of staff also reserve the right to contact the police in response to threatening and violent behaviour – this behaviour would result in a seven day notice period and subsequent removal from the patient list. In this instance a referral would be made to the Alternative Treatment Scheme.

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation and would encourage you to continue to work with us rather than against us, at this time of unprecedented pressure on our services.

Many thanks
